The Problem – Getting rid of algae & moss is no holiday.
Keeping a caravan, motorhome or static trailer spotless and algae free can be a thankless chore. Caravans and motor homes inevitably suffer wear and tear on their travels, whilst static trailers suffer the algae growth problems associated with not moving and often being parked near bushes and trees. All are constantly subject to sunshine, rain, wind, snow, and even ice. And in the quiet periods, even under cover, moss and algae can easily take hold – especially in hidden areas such as beneath seals etc. As much thought and care should go into the protection of a caravan when it is not being used as when it is about to go on holiday. |
However, the nature of caravan construction does not lend them to high pressure washes as this can damage seals and, generally speaking, the roof areas tend to lack the integral strength to allow you to climb all over them with a scrubbing brush.
And yet, before a caravan is stored for the winter or left uninhabited for a period of time, it is important to eradicate hidden moss and algae spores, otherwise they will take hold and increase wear and tear, decaying rubber strips, window seals etc. |
"The proactive benefit of RBT across all sports is huge and I feel we have finally solved our algae nightmare."

The Solution
The annual cycle of maintenance is well known to all caravanners. Cleaning, polishing or waxing and ongoing protection are vital. And yet even commercial awnings can exacerbate problems with moss and algae by trapping in moisture. Residual Barrier Technology is the result of years of scientific research, aimed initially at destroying surface-based diseases in hospitals around the world. However RBT has a major use in external applications, it destroys damaging moss, algae and bacteria but then leaves an invisible, active, microbial film on any surface to resist any form of re-growth. In addition, RBT works without hard scrubbing. RBT can be applied to all external surfaces such as the roof, windows, sunroofs, seals etc with a light spray and left overnight. Dead fungi can then be washed away with a light spray the next morning. If the caravan is going into storage, a final application left to dry, will keep ongoing protection active. |
The Result
The benefits of Residual Barrier Technology are entering all aspects of cleaning technologies. RBT works on all surfaces, external and internal, keeping your ‘home from home’ as clean and safe as your main home. The regular use of RBT as part of your annual maintenance safeguards your investment, protects hidden areas from contamination and leaves you more time to simply plan your break. |
